Organisation was praised, but the loudspeakers were criticised
A participant on r/TillSverige described clear sections, assigned seats and helpful UHR staff. The outdoor queue reportedly eased early in the morning. The same participant said the test itself began at about 10:30 and candidates left after noon.
The original poster and another commenter found announcements difficult to hear in the large hall. Written instructions on the desks helped. These are participant reports, not an official UHR evaluation.
Candidates used the available time very differently
One commenter said they finished in about 20 minutes. The original poster chose to work more slowly and review the paper several times. A single completion time therefore cannot establish how difficult the test was for the full group.
Several comments stressed careful reading. One candidate felt that some items also tested reading comprehension. That matters because the test was conducted in Swedish.
UHR's study material was the recurring preparation source
Participants reported reading Sverige i fokus, replaying the audio chapters and making their own test simulations. One commenter felt that the questions followed the official material closely. That remains one person's assessment, not a published answer key.
The practical lesson is to study the authority's Swedish material, practise multiple-choice questions and avoid rushing. Provkollen's questions are independently written and are not questions from the test day.
The atmosphere was both personal and political
One participant described relatives waiting outside the venue and said the moment underlined the importance of the test. The same person felt that preparation had increased their knowledge of Sweden.
Discussion was politically divided. Some commenters considered a knowledge test reasonable; others criticised applying new requirements to people who had already waited a long time for decisions. Earlier reporting by SvD also showed wider disagreement about what citizenship tests should measure.
What remains unknown
UHR has not yet released candidate results, an exact pass threshold or the roughly 60 questions used. In its FAQ updated on 26 August, UHR confirms October results, a pass threshold set after analysis and a new registration for the next sitting. The exact result date, next test date, location, question count and duration are still unpublished. Suggested pass marks on Reddit are therefore speculation.
Swedish Radio previously warned about invented questions circulating online. Provkollen therefore does not reproduce alleged remembered questions or label them official. Only UHR's five published samples can currently be described as official examples.
